The Bargain Loving Brits are back in a new series!

Bargain-Loving Brits in the Sun series 9 (2023) is currently underway again here in the UK and can be found on Channel 5.

The popular documentary, which returned to UK television screens towards the end of 2022, follows Bargain Loving Brits who have moved to Spain for the sun, the sea, and the low-cost lifestyle that the Costa Blanca offers.

Season 9 of Bargain-Loving Brits in the Sun focusing on the hugely popular resort of Benidorm and catches up with native bargain loving Brits that now call Benidorm home.

We also get to meet several brand-new characters in 2023 as we did back in season 8 last year starting with Uncle Ron who is a haulage contractor and now the owner of multiple bars around Benidorm and Nigel, who moved to Spain in 2015, is known as the Benidorm TikTok Guide.

We also check up on Colin ‘Coco’ Brown, working hard at the animal rescue center and farm he runs when he is not entertaining fans in Benidorm and we follow the progress of barbecue caterer Paul AKA ‘Chunkz’ who is looking to expand his business The Saucy Pig in Benidorm.

Other characters to note in series 9 is one of our favourites from previous episodes of Bargain-Loving Brits in the Sun 2022, Colin – drag queen by night, loving husband, father, and animal rescue centre boss by day! Drag queen and horse lover Colin “Coco” Brown moved in with his Spanish partner Sebastian and decided to use land around their home in Murcia to make a horse rescue centre. You will be glad to know Colin is back in series 9 and you can see how him, his partner and his horses are all doing in 2023.

We also get introduced to Jolene who’s has been doing tarot card reading professionally for over 24 years.

We also have Ding Dong Val, who swapped Coventry for the Spanish coastal town some 14 years ago and is one of Spain’s best sales reps for Avon.

Louise and Ed are planning for their big day as they are finally getting married ion Benidorm, you can check that out in episode 7.

There are plenty of other familiar faces in season 9 and it’s great to see these bargain loving Brits enjoying life in our favourite resort, Benidorm.

Who is the voice of Bargain-Loving Brits in the Sun 2023?

The entire 9 seasons on this Channel 5 series have been presented by actor John Thomson.

John Thomson
John is well-known for his appearances on Men Behaving Badly, The Fast Show, Coronation Street and Cold Feet.
John’s career began in the early 90’s when he contributed his voice on the cult Comedy TV show Spitting Image doing the voices of Jeremy Paxman, Paul Gascoigne and Norman Lamont.

In recent years John has turned his attention to more narrating jobs and has previously been the narrator of Channel 4 series Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners as well as Police Interceptors.

How many episodes of Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun are there?

Season 1, 2, 4 and 4 of Bargain-Loving Brits in the Sun all had eight episodes. Season 5 had nine episodes and Season 6 had just six episodes due to Covid-19. Season 7 and Season 8 both have 10 episodes with Season 7 also having a Christmas Special which aired on December 12th 2021. Season 9 in 2023 has almost 40 episodes.

Who Is Julie Shales in Bargain-Loving Brits in the Sun?

At the time of writing the internet is all of a buzz over “Julie Shales” from Bargain-Loving Brits in the Sun and her apparent death. Sadly, we are unable to confirm this news as the websites that dominates the Google results offer no real news or confirmation. Neither do they offer a confirmed image of the Julie Shales in question. We were able to find an obituary notice in the Yorkshire post from the 12th of February this year confirming that a lady called Julie Shales sadly did pass way in Benidorm on January 12th.

Will there be a new series of Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun?

As Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun series 9 only recently started towards the end of 2022 there has been no word as yet to say if or when series 10 will go ahead or start filming but based on the number of Brits that love the show we think its safe to say there will be another series towards the end of 2023.   1. BLB should get the youtubers that live in benidorm on the show, some.are British, who work normal jobs there aswel as youtube , Lucy Young being one of them she work at winners bar , she is a youtuber too snd has a big follower .

    1. Yeah there are some great ones on YouTube and Facebook. Some of the artists that perform in Benidorm were absolutely amazing during the lockdowns. Many performed throughout the week live on Facebook and YouTube keeping all us Brits entertained and allowing us to still enjoy some of Benidorm’s finest from the comfort of our own home.
